Bonfire Night week: Tuscany in November
Bonfire Night on 5 November marks the start of winter in the UK. In Tuscany, early November is still mild, around 15 °C, and it is the last week of Redolina's season: the house is open until early November.
Florence in November
Florence is at its most livable: no queues at the Uffizi, restaurants without reservations and the Duomo square almost empty.
Truffles and new oil
Olive mills open their doors for tastings of olio nuovo, green and peppery, and the first white truffles reach the menus. San Miniato's famous truffle market follows later in the month.
A short break
A Thursday-to-Sunday trip is enough: one day in Florence, one in San Miniato or Lucca, one at the house.
